“Ora questo movimento è corteggiato da tutto l’establishment, dai suoi megafoni e dalle autorità di tutto il mondo: come fosse un piccolo neonato ovviamente innocuo, da vezzeggiare a proprio piacere. Molti cortigiani di questi giovani sono proprio i responsabili dell’attuale situazione sociale e ambientale, oggi lusingano i ragazzi mentre cercano di nascondere i volti dei responsabili e di indirizzare il percorso verso obiettivi generici. Ma il tempo è di questi giovani; della loro capacità di autorganizzazione e di autodeterminazione. Se resisteranno, se riusciranno a trasformare le loro proteste in un movimento in grado di chiamare per nome le banche, le multinazionali responsabili del land grabbing, del water grabbing, della costruzione delle grandi dighe che obbligano centinaia di migliaia di persone ad abbandonare la propria casa, delle perforazioni petrolifere e di un modello di sviluppo fondato sugli idrocarburi; se arriveranno a individuare le colpe dei politici che sacrificano il futuro del nostro pianeta per i profitti stratosferici di un esiguo numero di persone; se metteranno al centro della loro azione il legame inscindibile tra la lotta alla povertà e un’iniqua distribuzione della ricchezza e la lotta per la difesa del pianeta: se tutto questo avverrà l’establishment e i suoi alfieri cominceranno ad attaccarli, a delegittimarli in ogni modo e quindi scatterà una repressione senza guanti di velluto”.
